Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. A West Virginia quarterback is no longer with the program.
Sophomore signal caller David Isreal, who transferred into West Virginia from Butler Community College last Summer, has left the team.
There aren’t a lot of details at this time but this one doesn’t really come as much of a surprise, considering there were reports that Isreal had not been practicing as a quarterback and wasn’t dressed for the Mountaineers’ last few games in the 2017 season.
Isreal’s departure leaves the Mountaineers with four scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. The West Virginia coaching staff will now have to keep a close eye on the transfer market this Spring if they want to fill that fifth seat in Jake Spavital’s quarterbacks room.
