KEYS TO THE GAME
- Play the full 40 minutes. This one should be a no-brainer, but it’s what killed us in Morgantown. The Mountaineers held a 41-28 lead at halftime, but completely gave up on their offense in the second half and allowed Kansas to come roaring back to win the game.
- GUARD THE CORNER THREE. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk was left wide open and went 3-for-3 from the corner in Morgantown, allowing the Jayhawks to fight their way back into the game. This may be the one detail that has aggravated me the most this season. We HAVE to start guarding the corner three.
HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE (ON A SCALE OF 1-10)?
Ten. While Kansas has given up three of their six losses this season in The Phog, it’s still one of the toughest arenas in college basketball. West Virginia gave up a 14-point lead in less than three minutes there last year. As I said above, we have to play our game for all 40 minutes if we want to pick up our first win in Allen Fieldhouse.
PREDICTION THAT WILL BE WRONG
