West Virginia Gets Retribution Against TCU, Eyes Crucial Game Against Kansas On Saturday

Vengeance, thy name is Buckets.

NCAA Basketball: Texas Christian at West Virginia Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

Folks,

Theodore Buckets, Esq. is back!

After more than a month in the witness protection agency, Teddy Allen reemerged to help power the West Virginia Mountaineers (19-7, 8-5 Big 12) to a 82-66 win over the TCU Horned Frogs (17-9, 5-8 Big 12) in Morgantown, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

TCU jumped out to an early 13-9 lead - without giving a trigger warning - at the under 12:00 media timeout in the first half, but West Virginia would respond and take the lead going into next TV timeout. The Mountaineers would hold that lead for the remainder of the game, although the Horned Frogs did threaten it a few times.

Allen led the Mountaineers with 16 points, 6 rebounds. Beetle Bolden joined Allen by adding 14 points of his own, giving West Virginia 30 of their 38 bench points. Daxter Miles Jr. finished with 13 points, and Wesley Harris added 11 points. Jevon Carter was held to 9 points, but did record 9 assists - giving him 500 for his career.

West Virginia will now travel to Lawrence, Kansas, where they’ll take on the Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday. The Mountaineers will be looking for another dose of retribution, and will hope to beat the Jayhawks at the Phog to make up some ground in the Big 12 regular season title picture. That game will tipoff at 6:00PM Eastern, and will be televised on ESPN.
