No. 19 West Virginia Set To Take On Upset-Minded Oklahoma State In Morgantown

The Cowboys beat the Kansas Jayhawks last Saturday, and will look to recreate that magic again in the WVU Coliseum today.

OPENING THOUGHTS

I’m so proud of how this team has rebounded after that tough stretch of losses and the flu. When the all the cards were down, these Mountaineers could’ve folded and walked away. But that’s not what Mountaineers do, and these guys get that.

We’re now right back in the Big 12 Conference race, and control our own destiny the rest of the way. For once, we don’t need to rely on other teams to help us out. We have our sights set on that regular season title.

Let’s keep moving toward that goal, but not overlook the teams that will be looking to trip us up. One of those teams will be in Morgantown today. Let’s make sure they’re not able to recreate what they did to Kansas last Saturday.

KEYS TO THE GAME

  • PRESS, PRESS, PRESS. Oklahoma State is prone to turning the ball over, and I’m sure Bob Huggins has already beat this point the Mountaineers’ heads. The Cowboys turned the ball over 21 times when we played them in Stillwater, and I’d like to see them do it again.
  • Control The Offense Board. West Virginia had 16 offensive rebounds that turned into 19 second-chance points when they played Oklahoma State on December 29th. T

HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE (ON A SCALE OF 1-10)?

Seven. Oklahoma State beat the Kansas Jayhawks last Saturday. In Lawrence. The Cowboys have extreme upset potential, and West Virginia can’t afford to overlook that fact.

PREDICTION THAT WILL BE WRONG

The Mountaineers are firing on all cylinders. Lamont West has his shot back. Esa Ahmad is the Esa we all know and love. Jevon is Jevon and Sags is a monster.

West Virginia rolls.
