Well here we are, at the end of another season saying thank you and goodbye to the seniors. The playoff field is set and I can't complain about who made it in, there was at least two deserving teams for the fourth spot, I'm really glad they didn't put Georgia in because of their "good loss". I honestly expected the committee to put Ohio State in over Oklahoma with both teams having identical records. UCF made a good push and had a great season but in the end they didn't play enough quality teams and the loss of their quarterback is devastating but the backup is doing enough to win games. As for West Virginia, 2 defensive stops, a bad game, and a canceled game is the difference between a championship season and a really good season. As I mentioned before in another post, I was concerned about Linebacker and Corner depth and in the last two games it showed. In the fourth quarter you could see the mental mistakes mount up. I'm not gonna say the defensive scheme needs to change because we've seen it stop some of the best offenses and we've seen it get blown apart, just like all defenses it has weak points and it takes the right offenses to to exploit them. I believe that with good recruiting and finding some quality transfers the defense will be fine.West Virginia Mountaineers
