On the 12th game of West Virginia Mountaineers football, the ‘Eers gave to me, the avoidance of the Stormtrooper uniform curse. All week, all of the media coming out looked like the Mountaineers would go with their one-off the all-white look. The problem with those uniforms is that the Mountaineers play like total ass, going 2-7 in that combination including a 30-14 asskicking in Ames, Iowa this year.
So thankfully, the team chose to go with a white-white-blue look that the team is 3-1 in. It’s a good look and one that should play well on TV. When it comes to uniforms, television visuals are important, especially for 17-18 year old recruits who want to look fly.
The Mountaineers first wore this combination against Iowa State in 2014, which saw Skyler Howard throw for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns while running for 69 yards. Rushel Shell proved to be a bulldozer, running for 146 yards on 22 carries.
The Mountaineers wore this combination twice last year, when they beat both Baylor and Kansas State. The Kansas State game is memorable because of Will Grier’s scrambing Hail Mary to Ka’Raun White at the end of the first half that helped break the Wildcats’ spirit.
LET’S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
