Verbally Committed on July 22, 2017

McGhee was the first commitment of the 2019 class for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Kolton participated in the Kornblue Kicking Camp on West Virginia’s campus in June 2017, placing first in the field goal kicking competition and second in the punting contest and wowed Mountaineer assistant coach Mark Scott, earning him an invite to a special one-day camp the following month.

McGhee chose West Virginia, who were the first program to offer a scholarship, over offers from Rutgers and Army and heavy interest from Penn State.
