Yates is originally from Delaware and is making the move back to the east coast with his commitment to the Mountaineers. Brandon is a raw talent that can be molded by West Virginia offensive line coach Joe Wickline. He’s athletic and shows a mean streak in the run game, and can hold his own in pass protection. West Virginia has had success with raw, unfinished offensive linemen over the past few years, and Yates could be the next to make an impact.

Yates chose West Virginia over a late push by the USC Trojans and offers from Arizona State, Boise State, UNLV, Utah, Washington State, and several others.
