The West Virginia Mountaineers (5-2) extended their win streak to four games this evening with a 106-72 drubbing of the Youngstown State Penguins (3-6) in Morgantown.
Sagaba Konate returned to the starting lineup after sitting out with a recurring knee injury against Rider on Wednesday, and started things off with a dunk to get things rolling. Beetle Bolden followed that up with a three pointer to put the Mountaineers up 5-0 less than two minutes into the game. That lead would climb to 20-8 with the help of two more threes from Bolden, and the rout was on.
Youngstown State managed to narrow the lead to seven points late in the first half, but the Mountaineers went on an 11-0 run to end the half to take a 55-37 lead into the locker room.
The second half was all West Virginia, allowing Konate and Bolden to sit for the latter portion of the half.
