The West Virginia Mountaineers 2018 season is down to its last regular season game and under the bright lights of Mountaineer Field at Milan-Puskar Stadium, the Mountaineers will wear their traditional blue helmets, blue jerseys and old gold pants. The Mountaineers have already worn this combination once this season, against the Baylor Bears, when they needed to reset their season following a loss to the Iowa St. Cyclones. This time, following an upset loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Mountaineers will once again look to reset their season, this time with a Big 12 Championship Game berth on the line.
The Mountaineers have not beaten the Oklahoma Sooners since they joined the Big 12, with the margin of victory moving further and further away from competitive. The most competitive game was the first time the two teams played in 2012. This year, the Mountaineers boast a comparable offense to their 2012 season but with a much better defense, one not filled with freshman and sophomores.
One game. In Morgantown. At Night. Against the best team in the Big 12. With a Big 12 Championship Game berth on the line. You can’t ask for more.
