4. Win vs Power 5 team = 3 points

5. Loss vs anybody = minus 1 point

6. At the end of the season any win over .500 or better team = .5 points

7. At the end of the season any win over a team in the final rankings = .5 points

8. Conference Champions= .5 points

9. Independents= Notre Dame is worth 3 points and everyone else is worth 2 points

10. Beating a ranked team doesn't matter until the final ranking

First and foremost I would like to recognize and thank all Veterans, You Are What Makes This Country Great.

This week we have 30 teams in the rankings. This was a fairly mundane week in college football. Other than watching the Mountaineers own the purple horny toads the excitement level just wasn't there. Every team that had a shot at beating a top team couldn't get out of their own way save for Boise State. Here's a fun fact UCF is still winning, but the bad news is they still dropped in the rankings. This is the down side to playing in a group of 5 conference. The best hope for the group of 5 is for the rest of their conference to have winning records and 3 power five conferences to have a down year. I don't think it will ever happen because the committee will put a 2 loss "blue blood" program in over an undefeated group of 5 conference champion. If you need proof just go back to the NCAAM tournament last year when a cinderella team was making an amazing run, the talking heads decided to tell us we didn't what to see a cinderella team make it "we wanted to see the blue bloods go at it in the championship". Me personally, I love the underdogs. I love to see those who are told they aren't good enough to rise to the occasion. This is why I've given up on the current CFP as it is right now.

Another thought that comes to mind is how the talking heads are trying to create the narrative the BIG 12 doesn't belong in the playoffs. Here is how it goes, Oklahoma doesn't play defense so if the Mountaineers Win out it's because of a conference down year and if Oklahoma wins out, well the offense is good but they don't play defense. If West Virginia does win out they will use the canceled game against them.

Last thing to gripe about this week, I promise. The talking heads need to stop with the, oh they have poor defense argument. Football is geared more towards the offense in the modern era which is why quarterbacks win the Heisman most of the time. Plus if you cant move the ball and score your defense is gonna break. When good teams have lackluster defense they make up for it with stellar offense, it's about finding a balance with what you have that works. Let's take Alabama's games against LSU and Mississippi State for example. Neither team could move the ball consistently against Alabama. In the end their defense meant nothing when the offense could do nothing. Here is some advice for those teams, QUIT RUNNING THE SAME EXACT PLAYS OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Plus when you know pressure is coming don't try to drop back 12 yards and scan the field, GET RID OF IT!

Sorry for the rant.
