This game was put on the six-day selection window by the Big 12, allowing the conference and networks to determine the best time slot for the Mountaineers (8-1, 6-1) and the Cowboys (5-5, 2-5) compared to other conference games.
This is the 10th meeting between the two teams, with OK State holding a 5-4 edge in the series. The Cowboys have won three in a row against the Mountaineers and are 2-1 at home since the teams became conference foes.
OK State suffered a heartbreaking loss to arch-rival Oklahoma in the Bedlam Game on Saturday, 48-47. The Cowboys started the season 3-0, but have struggled in conference play, only beating Kansas and Texas.
The Mountaineers exploded to a 47-10 victory against TCU at home on Saturday. WVU needs a win in Stillwater to keep hopes of playing in the Big 12 Conference Football Championship alive. The Mountaineers are guaranteed a spot in the title game if they win out, but even one slip up would likely make them outsiders.
