Week 11 Top 25 Recap and My Top 25

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at West Virginia Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

#1 Alabama Crimson Tide 24, #16 Mississippi State Bulldogs 0

Tua looked human against a very good Bulldog defense that limited him to 164 yards and a QBR of 37.9. Bama pitched a shutout and won by 3+ touchdowns.

#2 Clemson Tigers 27, #17 Boston College Eagles 7

The Tigers knocked out BC quarterback Anthony Brown early and wrapped up the Atlantic division title with a decisive victory.

#3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 42, Florida State Seminoles 13

The ‘Noles have checked out against Willie Taggert and the Irish played their backup QB and scored 42. CFP here they come.

#4 Michigan Wolverines 42, Rutgers Scarlet Knights 7

This game wasn’t shown on TV because we have laws against televising murder.

#5 Georgia Bulldogs 27, #24 Auburn Tigers 10

Remember when people touted that Tiger defensive line as one of the best in the country? Georgia ran for 303 yards at 6.6 yards per carry.

#6 Oklahoma Sooners 48, Oklahoma State Cowboys 47

The Cowboys missed a PAT on a touchdown midway thru the 4th that would have put the score 42-41. When the Cowboys scored on their final possession they went for 2 and the win and failed.

#7 LSU Tigers 24, Arkansas Razorbacks 17

The #7 team in the country allowed a 2-8 team to score 14 points in the 4th quarter and almost lost.

#8 Washington State Cougars 31, Colorado Buffaloes 7

The Cougars smothered Ralphie scoring 10, 7 and 14 points in the final three quarters.

#9 West Virginia Mountaineers 47, TCU Horned Frogs 10

This game was butt for 25 minutes. Then West Virginia remembered that a Big 12 championship game berth was on the line and played like a top 10 team.

#10 Ohio State Buckeyes 26, #18 Michigan State Spartans 6

Don’t let the final score fool you, this was a “the Buckeyes might lose to Sparty” for 50 minutes.

Tennessee Volunteers 24, #11 Kentucky Wildcats 7

The Volunteers are now one-win away from being bowl eligible with games against Missouri and Vanderbilt to close the season. That will be a fantastic season for Jeremy Pruitt.

#12 UCF Knights 35, Navy Midshipmen 24

Navy played like a triple option team, completing no passes but rushing for 374 yards and controlling the clock for 35 minutes.

#13 Syracuse Orange 54, Louisville Cardinals 23

Syracuse scored 30 points in the 2nd quarter. ‘Nuff said.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons 27, #14 N.C. State Wolfpack 23

Wake earns their 2nd ACC victory of the year by beating the team that supposedly was a big loss for WVU in week 3.

#15 Florida Gators 35, South Carolina Gamecocks 31

Apparently telling the home crowd to shut up with a finger to your lips isn’t taunting, but Horns Downs is. The Florida QB told his home crowd to shove it. Way to go UF.

#19 Texas Longhorns 41, Texas Tech Red Raiders 34

Tech surged late but their first half struggled again doomed them.

#20 Penn State Nittany Lions 22, Wisconsin Badgers 10

The preseason #4 team in the nation falls to 6-4 on the season.

Northwestern Wildcats 14, #21 Iowa Hawkeyes 10

Complete Big Ten game was completely Big Ten.

#22 Iowa State Cyclones 28, Baylor Bears 14

A melee broke out and resulted in two players being ejected. The big one is ISU running back David Montgomery and because the ejection was in the 2nd half, Montgomery will miss the first half of the game against the Longhorns.

Boise State Broncos 24, #23 Fresno State Bulldogs 17

This was a great Mountain West game that no one watched.

My Top 25

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Notre Dame
  4. Michigan
  5. Georgia
  6. Oklahoma
  7. West Virginia
  8. Washington State
  9. LSU
  10. UCF
  11. Ohio State
  12. Syracuse
  13. Florida
  14. Texas
  15. Penn State
  16. Iowa State
  17. Kentucky
  18. Michigan State
  19. Boston College
  20. Cincinnati
  21. UAB
  22. Buffalo
  23. Utah State
  24. Troy
  25. Army

The entire rankings from 14 on down are total ass. There is no way to rank these teams. Kentucky lost to Tennessee. Michigan State lost to a bad Ohio State team that is still top ten because they are better than trash. Don’t take too much from these rankings at this point. I think WVU is peaking and should be higher than LSU, Ohio State and Washington State. I debated putting WVU ahead of Oklahoma but I still think OU is better because of the offense.
