The Mountaineers (6-1, 4-1) sit behind seven teams who have only one loss and are behind a Florida team that has two losses. However, each UF loss has been to teams currently ranked in the CFP top 10.
The Big 12 landed four teams in the top 25, with Oklahoma (7-1) as the highest-ranked team (No. 7). Texas (6-2) comes in at No. 17 and Iowa State (4-3) is No. 24. Interestingly, the Cyclones have the least amount of wins of any team in the top 25.
WVU currently has only two games against CFP-ranked teams ahead of them, but it’s possible Oklahoma State could be ranked by the time those two teams meet on Nov. 18.
Here are the rankings in list form:
1. Alabama (8-0)
2. Clemson (8-0)
3. LSU (7-1)
4. Notre Dame (8-0)
5. Michigan (7-1)
6. Georgia (7-1)
