PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • Lamont West: Iowa State forced Kansas State’s frontcourt into foul trouble early on Friday, and starting forward Makol Mawien fouled out of the game in five minutes. If the Mountaineers can replicate that, Lamont West will get a favorable matchup and should be able to capitalize.
  • Kamau Stokes: Kamau Stokes comes into this game averaging 14.8 points and 4.8 assists per game. If Press Virginia can keep the junior point guard contained, it’ll go a long way in shutting down Kansas State’s offense.

HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE (ON A SCALE OF 1-10)?

Eight. Kansas State is coming in off their biggest win of the season, a 91-75 beating of the Iowa State Cyclones to start conference play. If the Mountaineers are going to win this one, Jevon Carter is going to have to do a better job than he did against Oklahoma State - where he turned the ball over eight times.

PREDICTION THAT WILL BE WRONG

Kansas State is riding the momentum from that big win over the Cyclones, but West Virginia is a more complete team. This one is going to be another battle that comes down to the last possession, but the Mountaineers remain undefeated on US soil.
