The votes are in and the top eight teams in our poll have not changed. Alabama remains the unanimous number one selection. We here at the Musket haven’t forgotten the horrific beating Florida State suffered at the hands of the Crimson Tide. While voters in the AP and Coaches may, we don’t have short memories.
Clemson remains our #2 team while Oklahoma stays at #3. USC and Penn State round out the top 5.
The biggest faller of the week is LSU who goes from #9 in last week’s poll to not ranked. You don’t get to lose by 30 points and stay in our poll. We aren’t adhering to the thought that a top team can’t fall out of the rankings. Guess what, you can.
Five new teams enter the poll this week. Mississippi State, on the hands of that demolition of the LSU Tigers join our poll at #21. West Virginia, San Diego State, Oregon and Florida help round out the bottom of the poll.
