Virginia Tech Practices To Country Roads In Preparation for Sept 3rd Tussle With West Virginia

They might as well get used to it since they will hear it non stop after the game.

The Virginia Tech Hokies are doing everything they can to get ready for their September 3rd matchup with the West Virginia Mountaineers. That includes practicing to the West Virginia theme “Country Roads”.

We at the Smoking Musket applaud the Hokies for trying everything they can to get ready for the game. While it can be hard to prepare for a 5-star quarterback Will Grier and Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Justin Crawford on offense I’m sure the dulcet tone of John Denver will prepare the Hokies well.

With Kyzir White a.k.a. The Hammer and Dravon Askew-Henry roaming the backfield, the Hokies may have an easier time remembering the words to “West Virginia, Mountain Mama, take me home, country roads”, than they could passing the ball against Tony Gibson’s fearless, havoc-inducing 3-3-5. Redshirt freshman Josh Jackson will certainly have his hands full with the Mountaineers defense so the soft lullaby of the Mountain State is a good way to ease his burden.

Great job Hokies, I’m glad you’ve decided to listen to the beautiful song of “Country Roads”, you can join the West Virginia faithful when we sing it at the end of the game on September 3rd.
