We’re back again today with another edition of our 2017 Mountaineer football profile series. Today we look at Tight End Trevon Wesco.

Trevon Wesco, TE, No. 81

Year: RS-Jr

Height: 6’4

Weight: 268

Hometown: Martinsburg, WV

High School, Junior College: Musselman High School, Lackawanna College

How he got to Morgantown

Trevon Wesco is a rare in state talent who was rated as a three star recruit by all but one outlet. Trevon spent two years at Lackawanna College (you’ve heard that name before), and was rated the third best JuCo tight end in the nation by ESPN.

Career Highlight

2017 Prospectus

That was a pretty sweet little touchdown catch. It was also Wesco’s only catch of the 2016 season. Trevon played 170 offensive snaps last year in addition to his special teams work. Wesco should see about the same number of offensive snaps, if not a few more. He is a big body that blocks well and seems to have soft hands. It’s hard to say how his usage will be impacted now that Jake Spavital is calling the plays.

Dream Season

Spavital gets creative and uses some more traditional formations in short yardage and red zone situations. Trevon helps pave the way for Martell Pettaway and Elijah Wellman. Wesco also cashes in a few times himself. Let’s say, in a dream season, he makes 20 catches for 100+ yards and 3 touchdowns. Regardless of stats, Trevon Wesco helps this team in a variety of ways and will continue to do so.
