West Virginia Football Recruiting: Top 50 Offensive Tackle Junior Uzebu Commits to Mountaineers

A Georgia All-State player is ready to join the Mountaineers

247Sports.com

The Mountaineers just gained their 13th commitment of the 2018 class and he is a massive lineman who was just named to the Georgia 6A All-State team. Oyenmwen “Junior” Uzebu announced his commitment on Twitter. Junior, who calls himself the Nigerian Nightmare, will be a nightmare for Big 12 defenders.

Quotables

Scout’s Allen Trieu’s analysis

Uzebu is a massive kid at 6-foot-6, 290 pounds. He shows athleticism and comfort in space. He can still improve explosion and consistent pad level, but those are things that will come as he gets coached in college and gets into a strength and conditioning program at that level.

Measurables

Height: 6’ 6”

Weight: 305 lbs.

Absurd Comparisons

I will be the first to admit that line play is not something I am strong on when it comes to analysis. The Mountaineers don’t have anyone who has been a dominant tackle that i can remember so comparing Uzebu to anyone is difficult. Uzebu is as big as Yodny Cajuste is now and Uzebu has another year of high school to go.

Scheme Fit

Anyone who is a monster along the offensive line fits with the Mountaineers. An athletic left tackle is exactly what the Mountaineers need as they want to throw.

Impact on Other Prospects?

Uzebu is the first lineman to commit to the Mountaineers in the class of 2018. The Mountaineers will likely take at least one more lineman as two players, Kyle Bosch and Grant Lingafelter are set to graduate this year.
