If you needed any proof the Mountaineers made the right call to focus on the state of Georgia in recruiting, then check out the region 6A All-State team. Several Mountaineer commits and a few targets are on the squad.
Sam James, a lanky receiver from Richmond Hill, was named as a receiver. James came to a WVU camp and blew the staff away with his skills. Coach Tyrion Carrier was overheard saying he could make James a first round pick.
Also named to the All-State Team is Valdosta receiver Jayce Rogers. Rogers is the latest player to commit to the Mountaineers, making his feelings known a week ago that he would join the 2018 class. The reports on Rogers is that he can fly out fly.
Two other Mountaineer targets were named to the team as well. Lineman Junior Uzebu, a massive 300 pound specimen at offensive line was made a part of the team. Junior posted a video of himself running “the Gauntlet” at WVU.
4-star linebacker and teammate of Jayce Rogers, Zakoby McClain was named as a linebacker. McClain had a great quote saying when he plays he would “hit anything in his way”.
