West Virginia gained another commitment today as Valdosta, Georgia cornerback Jayce Rogers announced his commitment to the Mountaineers on Twitter. Rogers stands 5'-8" and weighs 165. The report on Rogers is that the kid can run. He reportedly has the wheels to help in the return game and his speed allows him to run with receivers downfield. This will come in handy against the offenses the Mountaineers will face in the Big 12.
Cornerbacks coach Doug Belk kept in regular contact with Rogers as the two developed a relationship that would eventually lead Rogers to Morgantown. Belk was hired to replace Blue Adams and has shifted the focus from the fertile grounds of Florida to the fertile grounds of Georgia. The move has paid off for the Mountaineers, as Rogers becomes the second commitment from the state to join the 2018 class.
