According to college football insider Brett McMurphy, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook has the Virginia Tech Hokies opening as a 4.5 point favorite over the West Virginia Mountaineers in their season opener at FedEx Field on September 3rd.
Openers via @LVSuperBook: Mich -4.5 UF; Bama -7.5 FSU; VT -4.5 WVU; UCLA -3.5 A&M; Tenn -3.5 GT; NCSt -5.5 SCar; LSU -14 BYU; Tex -16.5 Md— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) July 1, 2017
Of course this is a very early line but, if you have any confidence in the Mountaineers, it may be worth getting in on this one before it starts to move in either direction.
This betting line goes hand-in-hand with what we’ve seen with the season win total set by South Point Sports Book, and from various early predictions by several college football analysts and writers. Personally, I’m still not entirely sure what the rest of the world is seeing that I’m not, but I’m fairly confident that the Mountaineers will be able to go into Washington, D.C. and beat a team that will most likely be starting a true freshman at quarterback.
