Wow. What a win yesterday!!
I really liked all the home runs, as did everybody watching.
Now we have Wake Forest. The Deacs had a huge (with a capital “Y”) crowd for their game against UMBC and shold make for a rowdy, bowl game-like atmosphere tonight.
Also, Randy Mazey and Tom Walter (Wake Forest’s coach) are both from the same hometown (Johnstown, PA), so that’s pretty cool.

KEYS TO THE GAME
- The outfield wall. The small dimensions won’t give the Mountaineers an advantage this time, since they’re playing a team that is used to it. Wake Forest is one of the best home run hitting teams in the country.
- Rowdy atmosphere. West Virginia should have a pretty large contingent, but the Demon Deacon faithful will definitely make themselves heard at home.
HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE? (SCALE 1-10)
Eight. I’m as afraid of the Deacs as I am of the Ross-Rachael storyline in Friends.
PREDICTION THAT WILL HOPEFULLY BE RIGHT
This is really a pick ‘em game for me. Wake is a phenomenal team. This is a vital game as the winner has the inside track to move on to the super regionals.
