Dana Holgorsen’s Best Week Ever continues today as the Mountaineers just picked up a verbal commitment from a tight end at the top of their wishlist. Marist High School’s TJ Ivy announced his commitment to the West Virginia Mountaineers today on Twitter with a special video.

Ivy narrowed his list down to West Virginia, Illinois, Indiana and Iowa last month, and it didn’t take long for the Chicago native to decide where he wanted to play Division I football. TJ visited Morgantown on Thursday and informed the staff of his decision before leaving town.

In addition to the other schools in his top four, TJ also held offers from Iowa State, Oregon State, Purdue, Rutgers and Syracuse. Ivy becomes the second tight end commit in the 2018 recruiting class for the Mountaineers, beside fellow Chicagoland prospect Mike O’Laughlin, signaling the West Virginia staff’s renewed interest in using a tight end in their offensive scheme.
