West Virginia’s classic late game heroics weren’t enough to stave off elimination on Saturday.

After trailing Oklahoma State (29-25) 3-2 since the sixth inning, Jimmy Galusky hit an RBI single bringing home Riley Troutt and tie the game in the ninth to set up extra innings.

The very next inning, with Troutt on the mound, the Pokes doubled and came home two at-bats later in what would be the game clinching run.

Kade Strowd got the start for West Virginia (34-24) and pitched 5 23 innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out seven batters.

The Mountaineers will now have to wait a couple days to see their postseason fate. The NCAA Selection Show will be on Memorial Day at noon ET on ESPN2.
