West Virginia dominates Málaga CF 3-1

The Mountaineers picked up a win in their final game in Spain.

The WVU men’s soccer team coasted to a victory on their final full day in Seville with a 3-1 win over top academy team, Málaga CF.

After a scoreless first half, the Mountaineers scored two quick goals in the 50th minute.

The first goal was a free kick by Joey Piatczyc, the second was by Ryan Kellogg assisted by Spainsh-native Albert Andres-Llop.

The Boquerones (Málaga’s nickname) cut West Virginia’s lead in half eight minutes later with a goal in the left box.

The Mountaineers put the exclamation point on the match in the 77th minute with Jad Arslan scoring on a header, assisted by Ethan Shim.

The WVU men’s soccer team return to Morgantown on Wednesday, then break for the summer. The Mountaineers kick off the 2017 regular season in the San Francisco Bay Area on August 25 at Cal.
