The Mountaineers look for their first Big 12 sweep of the season against the “BatCats” of K-State.

OPENING THOUGHTS

So, I really don’t have too much to say this weekend.

I’m just about to finish up my sophomore year at WVU. Dead week is this week where I have a whole lot of homework to get done, and next week (first week of May) is finals. So I’ve been putting a lot more of my attention on that.

Sometimes I wonder why I pay the university for the pleasure of being constantly stressed. I wonder what they do with my tuition?

Yeah probably, but I digress...

Check out Bart’s article on Jackson Cramer. It’s pretty good read.

Also, try to watch the games this weekend. Saturday and Sunday’s games will be available to watch to anyone with cable or satellite, so try to support the team.

KEYS TO THE SERIES

  • Stolen bases. Both teams are about equal in stolen bases. If the Mountaineers can find an edge here and get some guys in scoring position, it will go a long way.
  • Just keep doing the job. K-State is at the bottom of nearly every statistical category. Just try to avoid a let-down.

HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE? (SCALE 1-10)

Two. I’m as afraid of K-State as I am of Gumby.

PREDICTION THAT WILL HOPEFULLY BE RIGHT

“BatCats” is a pretty dumb nickname for a baseball team.
