It’s been a weird week for Mountaineers. West Virginia is about to be down another assistant coach, according to multiple reports. It was first reported on Saturday, by Scout’s Jason Higdon, that Danny “Blue” Adams had accepted the same position for Charlie Strong at the University of South Florida. Multiple local writers began to ask around and were told on Saturday night that Adams would be staying at West Virginia.
Well, it’s a new day, and now there’s this:

Adams, a Miami, FL native, joined the Mountaineer coaching staff last March after former cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell left Morgantown for the same role in Justin Fuente’s staff at Virginia Tech. Prior to coming to West Virignia, Adams served as an assistant defensive backs coach for the Miami Dolphins.
Adams served as the lead recruiter for Eugene “EJ” Brown, Hakeem Bailey and Tyler Thurmond, all of whom signed their National Letter of Intent with West Virginia this past Wednesday.
