Dana Holgorsen said the Mountaineers would make moves after signing day to complete the 2017 class, and it looks as though the first piece of the puzzle is now in place.
Former Syracuse Orange cornerback Corey Winfield announced his commitment to West Virginia this evening on Instagram while on his official visit to Morgantown.

Winfield was recruited to Syracuse as a wide receiver, but switched to the defensive side of the ball during his redshirt freshman season. While at Syracuse, Winfield accounted for 80 tackles, 3 sacks and 3 interceptions.
Winfield will be available immediately, and should see a significant amount of playing time this fall. With Elijah Battle being the only current cornerback on the roster that has seen meaningful playing time, Winfield’s experience will be a welcome addition to the otherwise young group of corners.
