If you want to feel old, we’re signing guys that grew up watching Karl Joseph now.

West Virginia’s fourth National Letter of Intent of the morning comes from Stephenson H.S. (GA) standout Eugene “E.J” Brown.

Brown is a 5’-11”, 188lb athlete from Stone Mountain, Georgia plays bigger than his size indicates, and models himself after former West Virginia and current Oakland Raider safety Karl Joseph. The Mountaineers offered Brown back in April 2016 and it didn’t take long for him to commit to the program, which he had grown up watching.

Brown is good in open space against the run, but his highlight tape doesn’t show much in regards to covering slot receivers and tight ends, which is something he’ll have to do in Tony Gibson’s 3-3-5 defensive scheme. Brown’s athleticism should work in his favor in that aspect though.

E.J chose the Mountaineers over offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky and North Carolina State.
