The West Virginia Mountaineers used a 34-point outburst in the fourth quarter against TCU Horned Frogs to remain undefeated. The Mountaineers, led by Naomi Davenport who had a career high 32 points and 9 rebounds and Teana Muldrow with 20 points and 17 rebounds, scored 34 points in the final quarter for their 13th-straight win on the season. It was Teana’s seventh double-double of the season.
Mike Carey’s squad was down 56-53 after three and took a five point lead at one point in the game before West Virginia used a 25-9 run to seal the game.
West Virginia is now 13-1 all time against TCU.
The Mountaineers will take on the No. 8 Texas Longhorns Sunday, December 31st in the last game of the 2017 calendar year. The Longhorns finished second in conference last year, posting a 15-3 mark in conference play and a 25-9 record overall. The Mountaineers beat the Longhorns in the semi-final round of the Big 12 Tournament in route to the tournament title.
