Washington originally signed with Michigan as a quarterback in 2015, and transitioned to cornerback once he got to Ann Arbor. Washington was expected to make a push for a starting job this past spring, before he announced he would be leaving the school and enrolling at Copiah-Lincoln C.C.

Washington will be positioned to push for starting time immediately upon arriving at West Virginia.
