Wheaton is a Mountaineer legacy, multiple times over. Bryce’s grandfather, Garrett Ford, Sr, played for West Virginia before eventually becoming the Associate Athletic Director. His uncle, Garrett Ford, Jr, split time with Eugene Napoleon the year after the Mountaineers lost to Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl. Both of Bryce’s parents received degrees from West Virginia University, so you can say being a Mountaineer is in his blood.
Bryce competed at The Opening Regionals earlier this year, and was ranked the 4th best receiver of the day. He’s 6’3”, 191 lbs, and ran a 4.5 40-yard dash. Wheaton chose the Mountaineers over offers from Louisville, Syracuse, Washington State and Missouri.
