The West Virginia coaching staff had TJ Banks as one of their top targets, because they saw immense potential in the Pittsburgh area native. Banks will play as a H-back in West Virginia’s offense, where he’ll see time in the backfield in the fullback role and at the end of the line as a tight-end in the passing game. Banks is likely to make a push for playing time in 2018, and stands a good chance at skipping the redshirt.

Banks picked West Virginia over offers from Illinois, Pittsburgh, Maryland and Syracuse.
