Three of you (at the time of this posting) correctly guessed the combination. Unfortunately, Twitter won’t show me who you are. Maybe I’ll update it later if I find out who it was.
The Mountaineers are going to don a uniform combination they have worn previously this year. This year’s team seems to favor those white helmets, as this will be the fourth time they have worn them this year.
The white-white-blue combination was worn against Baylor, where the Mountaineers jumped out to a large 38-13 lead through the first three quarters before the offense stalled and the defense ran out of gas. Baylor inserted Charlie Brewer and he nearly pulled off the comeback. Xavier Preston sacked Brewer on a 2-point conversion at the end of the game that could have tied the game at 38.
West Virginia first wore this combination in 2014 when it played Iowa State, a game they won 37-24. The second time this uniform was seen was at the end of the 2015 Deathtober when Treyvone Boykin was making his Heisman case in front of a home crowd in Dallas.
