The West Virginia Mountaineers move to 6-3 on the season after knocking off No. 15 Iowa State in Morgantown. The Mountaineers have now won four straight Riot Bowls since those heathens in Ames stole the can. While we don’t physically have the can in our possession, it’s with us in spirit.
Will Grier went 20-for-25 passing for 316 yards, two touchdowns and one interception to redeem himself from his less than stellar performance against Oklahoma State. David Sills caught one of those touchdowns to pad his stats a little - he now has 16 touchdowns on the season. Justin Crawford went over 100 yards for the first time in about a month, but the player of the game award goes to Kennedy McKoy.
McKoy only finished with 60 yards on 12 carries but, most importantly, was able to ice the game when he picked up the first down on the delayed draw on 3rd & 17. Yes, folks, you read that right. The delayed draw worked.
West Virginia will travel to the Little Apple next week to take on the Snydercats. Kansas State knocked off Texas Tech in overtime earlier today, and will be riding a high coming into the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM ET.
