On a record setting night for Jevon Carter, the #19 Mountaineers cruised to a 102-69 victory over the NJIT Highlanders improving to 7-1 on the season while Carter became WVU’s all-time steals leader passing WVU great Greg Jones, who played from 1980-1983.
Coming off a 29-point performance in WVU’s come-from-behind victory over Missouri, Carter showed there was no hangover, as he led the Mountaineers with 25-points, including 5-11 from three point range. Carter was joined in double figures by Teddy Allen (16), Lamont West (13), James Bolden (12) and Wesley Harris (11.)
This was the first meeting between the two schools. WVU improved to 3-1 against current members of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Up Next: WVU will host #18 Virginia at the Coliseum on December 5, 2017. It’s the 19th all-time meeting between the schools, and the first in Morgantown since 1985 when the Cavaliers came away with a 56-55 win in the first-round of the NIT tournament. NJIT will host UMASS-Lowell.
