There’s really no point in making any predictions at this point because West Virginia is such a Jekyll/Hyde team, and you never know who is going to show up. Plus, I’ll be completely honest, I don’t know much about this Missouri team outside of three key points.

  1. They’ve lost Michael Porter Jr. for the season due to a back injury. Porter was the potential number one pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, so that’s a major blow to the Tigers.
  2. Obviously this team, under Cuonzo Martin is already much better than they were last year under Kim Anderson.
  3. I saw Missouri guard Terrence Phillips play when he was at Oak Hill Academy and he’s pretty good.

Taking all that into account, I’ve got West Virginia barely getting by in this one. No real reason, other than Bob Huggins is a better coach than Martin.

West Virginia 84, Missouri 79
