The No. 11 West Virginia Mountaineers won’t hold on to that ranking for long after getting blown out by the Texas A&M Aggies in Ramstein, Germany in the Armed Forces Classic.
If games were played 10 minutes at a time, West Virginia would be a shoe-in for the National Championship. The Mountaineers started things off hot against the Aggies, opening up a 26-13 lead over A&M around the 8:00 minute mark of the first half. It was all downhill after that. The Aggies switched to a zone defense, and anything West Virginia’s offense had going for them completely fell apart.

In the big picture of the college basketball season, this loss isn’t the end of the world - contrary to how West Virginia social media is reacting right now. If we’re still playing like this in a month or so when we play Virginia and Pitt, maybe then we can talk.
The Mountaineers return to action on Wednesday when they take on the American University Eagles in Morgantown. That game will tip-off at 7:00PM ET and will be broadcast on every West Virginia fan’s favorite network, AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh.
