- The series between the two programs is tied 3-3, with No. 12 West Virginia winning last season in a 34-10 beating in Morgantown. At least one of the two teams, if not both, have been ranked each time they’ve played, except for the 2013 season.
- The Mountaineers have not beat a Top 10 ranked opponent on the road since 1982, when they defeated the Oklahoma Sooners.
- TCU comes into this game with the nation’s best third down conversion percentage, converting 63%. West Virginia, however, has held opponents to a 31% third down success rate, good for No. 36 in the country. Something will have to give here.
- VegasInsiders.com lists the Horned Frogs as a 13 point favorite over the Mountaineers, with the over/under set at 67.5 points.
