Shelton Gibson has announced via his Instagram account today that he will be participating in this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.
Gibson announced that he would forgo his senior season back on January 11, also on Instagram.
Gibson finished the 2016 season with 43 receptions for 951 yards and 8 touchdowns. Arguably, his most memorable catch came in WVU’s 17-16 win over Kansas State when he caught a Skyler Howard pass while being aggressively facemasked.
Gibson is not in the top 10 of any major WR position rankings for the draft, but there are plenty of teams that need receivers including the Titans, Chargers and Bills (all of which have a Top 10 draft pick)
The wide receiver workout at the NFL Scouting Combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, March 4 with coverage on NFL Network.
