Sean Walters and Darrien Howard will represent West Virginia football in the 2017 Tropical Bowl on Sunday, January 15, at 9 a.m., in Daytona Beach Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida. The two were selected from all NCAA Division I FBS seniors.

The Tropical Bowl, in its second year, is designed to showcase the players to NFL scouts and GMs before the NFL Draft in April. The game is the final event of an entire weekend, which began today, Friday, with player registration.

Walters, a linebacker from Hollywood, Florida, played for WVU for five years, redshirting in 2012. He played all 13 games in 2016 and played every game in 2013 and 2015 as well. Walters recorded 23 tackles this season, 41 in total, and one interception.

Howard was the central figure on the WVU defensive line, playing every game of the 2015 and 2016 seasons. The Dayton, Ohio, native recorded 66 tackles in 2016 alone, 9.5 of those tackles were for losses.
