Smoking Musket College Pick 'Em Gauntlet Week Two Results, Plus Bye Week Predictions

The Smoking Musket Pick ‘Em Gauntlet is an online college pick ‘em game where we will try to pick the winners of the weekly Big 12 contests plus Yahoo! editors' selected games (usually the games involving the top 25 teams). We do pick against the spread (when available). There are usually 20-30 games to pick each week and each correct pick is worth one point. The winner (excluding Musket staff) will be the person at the end of the regular season who has the most correct picks/points. Points are cumulative, so don't worry if you happen to miss a week or two. We will award the winner a WVU Nike T-shirt at the conclusion of the games in December.

All participants are subject to the Official Rules as determined by SB Nation.

We actually filled the first group, so we had to open a second league to fit everyone in. The second league will serve solely as an extension of the first league, and is not a standalone league. If you are in the second league, you are still competing with those in the first league.

This is a real chance for Oklahoma, and to a lesser extent the Big 12 to gain some national respectability. Ohio State is good, but their not usually as good as they think they are. Which is an advantage Oklahoma will need to exploit. This means you, Sooner fans! Get in their heads anyway you can. Remind them that driving under the speed limit in the passing lane is stupid. Show GIFs of the recruit burglar in action on the jumbotron.

Pitt had everything going their way last week against Penn St. People actually showed up to the game and occupied actual seats in the stadium. Now they have to travel across the country and play an angry Oklahoma State team. I don't see this ending well for Pitt, and it feels good.

Oklahoma wins out of pure desperation. After losing to Houston to start off the season, Oklahoma needs this win to stay in the hunt for the College Football Playoffs.

After losing to Central Michigan, Oklahoma State state is out for blood. They want to show they're not overrated like some think after that major loss. They're not out of it as it was an out of conference game but they're going to look to make a statement. Pitt is a little better than most expect so they won't get blown out but they'll lose handily.

Oklahoma is getting docked pretty hard by the public for an extremely tough basically-road loss. The good news is that they actually played somebody to obtain the incredibly valuable QUALITY LOSS. The QUALITY LOSS has been a staple of the College Football Playoff since its inception all the way back in the year 2014. The Buckeyes have don't even have a quality win, let alone a QUALITY LOSS. Perhaps they can pick one up here before going into the Big Ten schedule.

I want to say OU is going to win this game. I'm going to be rooting for Oklahoma to win this game. But I don't believe it. There is a reason Oklahoma is opening as a home-dog for this game. Ohio State is the real deal with JT Barrett. Oklahoma is without Eric Stryker and I just dont believe Oklahoma has the mindset, the willpower, the gumption, whatever you want to call it when the time comes in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State wins it late with a field goal.
