West Virginia Will Face Illinois In NIT Season Tip-Off

We already knew the three teams joining West Virginia in the NIT Season Tip-Off in Brooklyn on Thanksgiving, we just didn't know how the bracket would be set up.

Now we do. The Mountaineers will play against the Illinois Fighting Illini on Thanksgiving at 2:30 PM. West Virginia and Illinois will be the second game of the day, following Florida State and Temple. The two winners will then face off on Friday afternoon for the championship.

Illinois struggled last season, going 15-19 and finishing 12th in the Big Ten conference.

West Virginia's nonconference schedule now looks like this:

• November 18th - NIT Season Tip-Off, opponent TBD (home)

• November 24th - NIT Season Tip-Off, Illinois (Brooklyn, NY)

• November 25th - NIT Season Tip-Off, Florida State/Temple (Brooklyn, NY)

• November 28th - NIT Season Tip-Off, opponent TBD (home)

• December 3rd - Virginia (away)

• December 7th - Western Carolina (Charleston, WV)

• December 10th - VMI (home)

• December 17th - UMKC (home)

• December 20th - Radford (home)

• December 23rd - Northern Kentucky (home)

• January 28th - Big 12/Sec Challenge, Texas A&M (home)
