West Virginia football head coach Dana Holgorsen has confirmed Mountaineer quarterback David Sills' departure from the school.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (June 23, 2016) - West Virginia University football coach Dana Holgorsen has announced that sophomore receiver David Sills is transferring to a junior college to further his collegiate academic and athletic career.
"We appreciate everything David has done for the Mountaineer football program. He has done everything asked of him and has been a great teammate," Holgorsen said. "He has decided to transfer to pursue his dream of playing quarterback in college. We wish him nothing but the best in all of his future endeavors on and off the field."
As a freshman, Sills played in eight games at receiver and finished with seven catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns. He caught the winning touchdown in the 2016 Motel 6 Cactus Bowl with 2:19 remaining in the game, giving West Virginia the 43-42 victory over Arizona State.
