Football:
West Virginia is experiencing a slight dip in season ticket sales from last season's totals but an increase in the amount of mini-packages being sold for the 2016 season.
Basketball:
Jerry West spent much of his Hall of Fame National Basketball Association career in quest of a championship ring. It nearly became an obsession with West Virginia University's greatest player, going to the championship game nine times before finally winning one in 1972. And now West is making a gift of that treasured ring, along with many other personal artifacts, to the state that meant so much to him and to which he has meant so much, highlighting this year's West Virginia Day celebration.
Baseball:
Randy Mazey is down one signee for next season as switch-hitting high school shortstop/outfielder Jordan Scott, the gem of West Virginia's 2017 baseball recruiting class, signed with the New York Yankees on Thursday, according to multiple media reports.
Underclassmen Ray Guerrini will forego his Senior season and has signed a deal with the Seattle Mariners, and Senior pitcher Ross Vance signed a free-agent deal with the St. Louis Cardinals.
