The local talent in the state of West Virginia for both football and basketball has been on the upswing recently, and another in-state athlete has been offered a scholarship.
Chase Johnson, a 6'7 forward from Ripley High School in Ripley, West Virginia, received an offer from Bob Huggins and the Mountaineers on Thursday.

According to Scout, Johnson also holds offers from Marshall, Richmond, High Point, and Duquense.
South Charleston product Brandon Knapper has already pledged his commitment to the Mountaineers for 2017, and Wheeling Central guard Chase Harler is slated to join the team this summer.
The most impressive part of Johnson's game is his athleticism, which is on display in these videos:

As things stand now, West Virginia has three open scholarships for 2017, though that could certainly change.
