OPENING THOUGHTS

It’s time to take a minute and realize how lucky we have it as WVU fans.

We have one of the all-time best coaches in the history of college basketball right here at West Virginia.

Not only is he a great coach, he is authentic and he has just as much of a fiery personality as any Mountaineer fan. Check out this gem from the 2011 game at Louisville:

His fiery authenticity also carries over to the fans, like the 2010 Pitt game in Morgantown.

But he care just like any coach too, as he did when Da'Sean Butler got injured in the 2010 Final Four game against Duke. He talked about it with Seth Davis three years ago.

He’s a great coach and we’re lucky to have him. Here’s to another 800 wins, coach!

KEYS TO THE GAME

  • Improve in the first half. The Mountaineers just weren’t quite themselves during the first half as the Keydets cut to as close as 25-20 in the first half. Work on shooting and work on offensive rebounds.

HOW AFRAID SHOULD WE BE (ON A SCALE OF 1-10)?

One. I’m as afraid of the Kangaroos as I am of Kangaroo Jack.

PREDICTION THAT WILL BE WRONG

UMKC is a pretty good basketball team within the WAC, but the ‘Roos have just lost their second-leading scorer to a Title IX investigation and WVU is just too good. Bob Huggins will be the second coach this week to lock up his 800th win (the other is former Villanova and current Keiser University coach Rollie Massimino) in a massacre.
