The West Virginia Mountaineers are back to their winning ways and are now 7-1 on the season after beating the Kansas Jayhawks 48-21 in Morgantown.
It was Kansas, what did you expect?
Skyler Howard finished the night 16-of-27 passing for 260 yards and three touchdowns, and added another 64 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The Mountaineer ground game, without Rushel Shell, was once again dominant. Justin Crawford racked up 129 yards and 1 touchdown on 13 carries and true freshman Kennedy McKoy added 127 yards on 18 carries, marking his first 100-yard game. Shelton Gibson led the way for the Mountaineer receivers, after a couple quiet weeks, with four catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Daikiel Shorts had another great game racking up 104 yards and a touchdown on 7 catches.
On the defensive side of the ball, cornerback Rasul Douglas continues to do favors for his NFL draft stock. Douglas came away with two interceptions, including a late interception as Kansas attempted to bring the score within 3 touchdowns.
The Mountaineers travel to Austin to take on Texas next week. The Big 12 Conference announced that the game time will be noon ET, on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
