The Smoking Musket Pick ‘Em Gauntlet is an online college pick ‘em game where we will try to pick the winners of the weekly Big 12 contests plus Yahoo! editors' selected games (usually the games involving the top 25 teams). We do pick against the spread (when available). There are usually 20-30 games to pick each week and each correct pick is worth one point. The winner (excluding Musket staff) will be the person at the end of the regular season who has the most correct picks/points. Points are cumulative, so don't worry if you happen to miss a week or two. We will award the winner a WVU Nike T-shirt at the conclusion of the games in December.
All participants are subject to the Official Rules as determined by SB Nation.
We actually filled the first group, so we had to open a second league to fit everyone in. The second league will serve solely as an extension of the first league, and is not a standalone league. If you are in the second league, you are still competing with those in the first league.
Our game, as in the past, will be hosted by Yahoo! Fantasy. GAME LINK

IT’S TIME TO PREDICT JUST HOW BAD WE MESS WITH TEXAS!
John Radcliff
My hope is that D'Onta Foreman used up all his positive mojo last week and has nothing left in the tank. Go ahead and call me a dreamer, I'm not the only one. I do have faith that coach Gibson has something up his sleeve for the Texas run game and that our own running game will limit the Texas offense. I expect this will be the most physical game WVU plays all year, and it won't be pretty.

Nothing is impossible so I guess that means Texas has a great chance of winning. I think they will.

Texas's power run opens up options for their offense and their defense does just enough to hand WVU its second conference loss. Charlie Strong crowd surfs in the locker room afterwards to celebrate being bowl eligible.

Cavs and Cubs come back from 3-1 to win a title, Villanova wins on a buzzer-beater 3, Great Britain leaves the EU, Donald Trump wins presidency. 2016 is the year [stuff] happens, so WVU is making a run to the playoff! Statement win coming as the 'eers get back on script with a punishing run game and an effective defense to hand the Horns their first home loss. Texas is still a brand name and this is the game that gets WVU attention as they jump 5 spots for the next CFP poll. I'm all in on this team. 11-1 gonna happen and it starts in earnest in Austin.

WVU wins by a touchdown because we have more explosiveness than they do. Keeping Foreman and Swoopes to under 150 combined yards, will make this game more winnable.

This one scares me. Hell, they all scare me at this point. We know what we're up against in the Texas run game. Hopefully an 11am kick in Austin keeps the atmosphere to a minimum and Gibby can work some magic in stopping the UT power game.

Against OSU I had a sneaky feeling that we weren't ready. I don't get that feeling here but I'm scared to death of Foreman just running through us like Perine in 2014. Skyler has looked off lately and playing in Austin could prove to be too much atmosphere for him. I seriously can't take Charlie Strong crowdsurfing this year.

D'onta Foreman is very good, but the DAWGS travel. 11AM in Austin is an incredible opportunity for the Mountaineers to come in and storm DKR especially with a shaky Longhorn defense. If the West Virginia defense is able to force it into a passing duel between Skyler Howard and Shane Buechele, I'm taking the upperclassman.
